At its meeting on 22 February 2023, the School Board appointed Professor Luís Fernando Sanchez Rodrigues (Retired Professor of the Department of Mathematics) and José Fernandes Videira Lousa (Coordinator of the Works, Maintenance and Spaces Office) to the positions of Ombudsman and Deputy Ombudsman for Ciências ULisboa respectively.
The Statutes of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, published as an annex to Order No. 11913/2021, of 2 December, in the Diário da República, 2nd series, No. 233, establish in Articles 83 to 85 the Ombudsman body. The Ombudsman is an independent body whose function is to contribute to compliance with the regulatory provisions in force at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, to analyse and mediate conflicts, to propose solutions, and to ensure that all those who carry out activities at Ciências ULisboa fulfil their duties and enjoy their rights.
The bodies, services, students, employees and scholarship holders of Ciências ULisboa may submit requests to the Ombudsman relating to or connected with the practice or omission of acts by other bodies, services, students, employees and scholarship holders of Ciências ULisboa. To do so, they should use one of the following methods:
