The Head of Department represents the Department within the Faculty and externally, and cooperates with the Faculty's governing bodies, other Departments, and the EI&D on all matters relating to the Department's areas of activity, its members, and its collaborators.

Body responsible for defining and supervising the Department's training and R&D policies, chaired by the Head of Department. It is composed of all full-time faculty members and PhD researchers in the Department who are employed under a public service contract with CIÊNCIAS for a period of not less than one year.
